Trinidad de Jesus Argüello

Trinidad de Jesus Argüello’s, PhD, LCSW, career has focused on implementing mental health programs addressing awareness in the need to improve services for those individuals who experience serious and persistent mental illness that are culturally and linguistically appropriate, and the promotion of equity for underserved populations. This includes the importance of health and behavioral health literacy and her involvement related to cultural diversity, disparity, and advocacy in addressing cultural issues of communities, consumers, and families. Trinidad’s work in all these areas has always been community focused. She was recently honored by the NM Behavioral Health Planning Council for 50 years of service in rural communities. With multiple degrees, Trinidad has used her nursing and social work skills to develop integrated approaches to mental health care. She has served as a clinician, supervisor, administrator, and academician throughout her career, creating and restructuring programs to the benefits of the communities she serves. She is a published author, the recipient of countless awards, and has been a member of dozens of councils and commissions.
