
John D. Tadich, Behavioral Healthcare Entrepreneur
John D. Tadich is currently the Chairman of the Board of iHope Network, Inc., a tele-behavioral health company that used a unique approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to produce low cost, predictable outcomes that exceed current norms. iHope sold its assets to Ginger,io (acquired by HeadSpace) and FasPsych in the Spring of 2021. The company continues to exit to hold the proceeds of these sales until the acquirers have a liquidity event.
Mr. Tadich was a retained advisor to Centene regarding its behavioral health operations and value-based payment strategies, from 2016 – 2017. He had an emphasis on provider partnerships and integrated healthcare. From 2002 – 2005 John established and ran Centene’s Specialty Division.
He served as the Interim CEO for a behavioral health partnership that holds a capitated contract with the State of Colorado to provide mental health and substance use treatment for a Medicaid population of 140,000 in the Denver Metro area. He served in this capacity from 2014 – 2015.
From 2009 to his retirement in September 2014, Mr. Tadich was the President of the Public-Sector Division and Emerging Markets for ValueOptions. He had management oversight for 13 state programs that provide behavioral health services for Medicaid and indigent populations. He helped facilitate the acquisition of ValueOptions by Bain Capital.
Mr. Tadich has more than 40 years’ experience in managed healthcare. He has worked in all segments of the market including commercial programs, health plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. He has been particularly active in the behavioral health aspects of healthcare systems for the past 30 years.
Immediately prior to joining ValueOptions, Inc., John was the Executive Director for United Healthcare’s Medicare Advantage Operations in Northern California. He also served as the President and CEO of United Behavioral Health for seven years.
He headed the Small Group Division of Blue Cross of California, was a Consultant and Director of Marketing for William M. Mercer in Pittsburg, PA, and was trained in underwriting and pension administration during his 10 years with Great-West Life Assurance Company.
Mr. Tadich has recently served on the Board of Directors or as an advisor at iHope Network, Aligned Telehealth (tele-psychiatry), WestBridge (dual diagnosed treatment centers), AspenRidge Recovery (substance abuse treatment programs), Vitals, Inc. (decision support for healthcare purchasing), InfoMC (complex case management technology), Performance Improvement Advisory Committee for
Colorado Regional Accountable Entity Region 1 (United Healthcare), and Ensoftek (healthcare IT solutions). He is also an advisor to Focus Behavioral (second opinions and appeals in behavioral health) and for Precise Behavioral Health (an AI psychiatric contracting firm). He was an advisor/operating partner for Shore Capital, LLR Partners, and SV Health Investors.
Mr. Tadich has an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. He also completed an Executive Training Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
